How much do you get paid for STEMI call as an interventional cardiologist?

Would be good to add if Locums, Employed, private practice covering hospitals as it’d vary a lot.
For private practice generally 1k per night
For employed certain number of calls are required and included in your pay.
for locus anywhere between 200-400$/hour it generally include general cards coverage also.

Varies. From what I’ve seen for whatever reason cardiology isn’t paid for call nearly as often as many surgical specialties even though we have the worst call possible. Often it’s tied into your “salary” if employed and if not employed it’s considered an “opportunity” to generate procedure and downstream revenue.

With that said some people obviously are paid. I never have been but hear 500-1000 night

For locums I’ve mostly seen $3000-3500 for 24 hour call including 6-8 hour work day Of clinic care or scheduled cath lab Stuff.. which is less than a lot of other specialties

Wow that's really bad for the lifestyle commitment... you're going to make more in surgical subspecialties with better lifestyle

“Making more” is still debatable and chances are an IC is going to make more than the vast majority of surgical subspecialists though you’re right at the expense of a worse lifestyle. It’s just the “paid call” component that sometimes doesn’t seem to add up. But overall income levels can still be extremely high regardless.
