How much emphasis does USC ADCOMS put on the writing sample?

I had an interview not long ago and we wrote a simple response to a question that was asked. Just out of curiosity how much weight do they put on the writing sample in ranking the applicants? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Mine was "what would you do if you win lottery." I said I was going to help my best friend who is suffering from financial problem due to his father's heart disease. Then I said I would buy and open "Jack In The Box" in east coast. (we don't have Jack In The Box in east coast lol)

Bottom line is... They def. want to know whether you can write and prove your points. It's more like they would like to see you communicate without problems. (It's because they don't want to have people who can barely speak in English, especially when they have PBL aka group working)

You should be fine as long as you didn't try to write something stupid.

You didn't run away by the time the writing sample came around? Weird. I don't think it has much weight though.
