Hi,
Let me introduce myself as Dr.Venkatesh.C practising as a dentist in Shivam dental care center,Hyderabad INDIA.I am going for gre examination in two months.I had been following Barrons' guide but I would like to know how much score I have to get in GRE to get admission in American universities for doing MPH.Which universities are the best one to apply?

Hihi!

Well, where to begin... The GRE scores are highly variable for many schools, but I'll start with the ones I know. If you go to www.usnews.com, you might be able to see a listing of MPH schools and their rankings. Needless to say, a score of 1000 is (in my opinion), the absolute minimum required for any decent MPH program. 1300 and above is a great score, and will get you in almost anywhere. Scores of 1100-1200+ are decent, and only a few schools (such as UC Berkeley and UCLA) average higher (they are about 1250-1275).
Some schools (like University of Iowa), have an absolute minimum cutoff of 1050 - they won't even look at your application unless you have this.

I know someone who got into Yale with an 1100, and according to many people on SDN, Yale has given them an exceptional experience. I'd say you should try for 1200+, and you'll be fine. If you score lower than 1200, think about what schools you want to apply to and choose carefully. If you score lower than 1000, definately retake the exam. Also, look at the cost for schools and what it takes to attend - you'll find varying answers there too.

I agree... depending on other aspects of your application, I'd aim for between a 1000 and 1200... Obviously if you have a a great application your GRE can drop to around 1000. A 1300 or above is a great score and will get you into good schools if you have a decent to good application. 1250 is a good score but I would think that you would need help from your application (LORs, ECs, etc...)
