How old are we **Entering Class of 2010**

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
dude, I'll be 64.

Would have been 19 if I hadn't of f***ed up so many times. Now it looks like I'll be 21...

ur kidding rite?! if not, please let us know which dental school accepts you. i don't mean to sound liek a jackass but i just want to know how much of an age barrier some dental schools are willing to cross!

26 now... 27 when we start! I love this thread - didn't realized there were so many of us oldies 🙂

Oldies - you aren't even close to being an oldie!!! I've got a couple classmates old enough to be your parents - 20 yrs your elder. Plus, I have had my driver's license as long as a couple of my classmates have been alive. Old, I feel old! 😱

LOL, you're kiddin' too right?

I'm going where my grandkids are going, hopefully we'll be in the same class so that they can look after me, let me borrow notes and let me cheat etc!

ok, does it sound like a normal person talking?

LOL, anyway, the DS guide published by ADEA lists all the age range, you might wanna check it out from your school libraries.

FYI, the oldest med student ever enrolled in the U.S. med school was 64. Unless someone beats that recently.

Yes, I am. If you look at my profile pic, does that look like someone who fel sold? But it is strange to know a few classmates are almost another generation younger than I am.

Hey, sorry I was actually referring to iwannabadentist.

I'm 22 now (23 in September).. but will turn 24 in the first week of D school if I get in.

I will be old but i will be forever young looking. 😀😀

27, will be 28 when I enter dental school (the power of positive thinking!).

Currently 25. Will be 26 when I enter. Man... I don't feel too bad about my age anymore, now that I see so many of us 25+'s...

23...will be 24 in 3 days! 😀

Happy birthday.
I'm 25... will be 26 upon entering!

For those of you who are 19, 20, 21... do you guys have a major or did you just complete the pre-requisites? I'm asking because I'm 19 right now, and was hoping to be able to apply to dentistry school for Fall '10 but admission advisors told me it is highly unlikely to get accepted without a bachelor's degree??

This thread is inspiring to me, I'm turning 26 this month and applying next summer for the 2011 entering class....there really is hope!

**Does anyone know if it matters when you finished your undergrad?? I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in 2005, and am applying next year in 2010...taking the DAT's in the spring so they will be very recent. Any tips or advice or knowledge of this is much appreciated!

I'm 21 now, will be 22 when d school starts.

I'm 24... and hopefully starting dental school when i'm 25!

23. Will be 24 this September.

I'm 20 but turning 21 at the end of the month. I'm going into my last year of undergrad so I'll have my degree before entering dental school (assuming I get in this year...)

27 when I start (if all goes well), and then I can kiss my carpet-covered cube goodbye!!!

24 if i get into dental school 2010.

27 and will be 28 by the time class of 2010 starts

I'm now 26 and 27 when school starts next year....😀

And I am almost positive the average age of matriculation is 24/25. so +1 or -1 is not old.

This thread makes me happy because I felt stupid for "wasting" a year. I'll be 23 when I enter next fall. I didn't realize the average was that high.

I'm 19. if i'm lucky i'll be 20 when i get in. i'm a bio major and this fall starts my senior year of college. most people graduate at 21 or 22 so I'm guessing most of them are going to be seniors this coming year too. but yeah I'm pretty sure a bachelor's degree is preferred.

why is the average around 24? i would assume most people would apply right out of college. when do a lot of you older people decide to apply to dental school? after completing grad school or getting a job?

thinking about it, it'll be pretty wierd if i do get in next year. i'm used to being the youngest but being in class with people -that- much older than me will be strange. i'll migrate to those who still make fart jokes 😛

24 now but 25 when I enter 🙂...Now I don't feel so bad I thought I was going to be all alone as an older student!

21. Will be 22 when entering (hopefully)
