How quick will a TBR set sell back?

So, I am going back and forth on whether to buy the science books from TBR (holding off on the verbal) because of them killer passages. However, I'm feeling a bit on the cheap side and starting to wonder if I will be able to sell the set when I am finished. (Not planning on making ANY marks and keeping the set so fresh and so clean-clean). Any thoughts?

Depends on your price. You can look at what others are selling theirs for and competitively price them.

Just keep in mind that you probably will not get what you payed for them back. I'm not saying this is not possible, but if I were the buyer I would just rather buy it directly from BR for the same price you know?

no doubt. totally don't expect that. the plan is to throw a bunch of other goodies in the mix. anyhow, thanks for the reply.

They sell on ebay for the purchase price or more. i've seen the gen chem, orgo and physics sell for 220 or more. the individual books sell for around 60 bucks or a little more on ebay.

I bought mine, used them, and then resold on EBay for more than the purchase price. People are willing to pay a little more to get them faster because ordering through TBR directly is a pain the butt.

They have really high resale value. In SDN classifieds, they typically go for slightly under their new price. As Mzblue pointed out, they have been known to sell for more than the new price, I assume because some people don't know how to buy them new and as was pointed out, the ordering system is not the friendliest.

You probably don't want to package them with anything else, because other materials rarely sell for half of their new price. You also want to list the copyright year, because the newer books sell faster and for a little more than 2008 or earlier.

The only caution I might put out there is that once the new physics book is out (due out in October some time), it will probably change the sale prices a bit, making the older physics books worth a little less. Who knows how much, but if the number of PMs I get about the new physics books mean anything, then I'm guessing it will be the trendy new must have item that all the popular kids have. I wouldn't doubt if Paris hilton evens picks up a set, although she'll probably claim she didn't know they were hers if she's caught with them.

Ditto. It took about 3 weeks or a little more, i think it was almost a month, to get mine. Once they ship it, it takes about 2 days for fedex to deliver. I'm sure part of it is that i'm mailing from the east coast, waiting for usps to get it there, then once you see the check clear, you wait for the email letting you know they're shipping. My advice, order it ahead of time.

Great posts guys. I have the form filled out and have been balking on walking it to the mailbox. I'm not sure if I have the time to wait around for the new physics edition though, especially being that TBR uses telegraph and the Pony Express still.

i may be willing to sell you mine. i don't start review till next year. if you're taking the exam in january and want it for review now, let me know and i'll think about it and get back to you.
