How realistic are my goals as an "international student"?

I was curious if anyone knows people with an international student visa to study in the U.S. (F-1) who got into dental schools. I heard this is more difficult for int. so I wanted to compare myself and see where I stand. What kind of stats do I need to get in?

I know my undergrad school has a dental program, but it's really competitive, especially if you don't have at least permanent citizenship. So just wondering if it's a common trend among the schools.

Thanks and have a good day!

There are many international dental students studying in the States. BU and NYU take a lot of Canadians (20+) every year.

hey there.
I'm a international student applying in 2012 cycle. So far, I got three interviews from 8 schools i applied to. When I went to pre-health advicing center at my school, they told me to forget about it since it is soooooooo hard to get in as an international.
They don't know what they are talking about. I was so upset when they told to give up but here I am.
Yes, it is harder for some state schools but private school don;t really descriminate, I don;t think, as long as your english section score isn't too bad ( 18 or above)
I got 22TS 23AA GPA 3.8ish ( Science 4.0) and I applied really late ( end of August).
Strange though that so far, I've had interviews from state schools. none from private schools... yet..
I have five other friends in NY who went to dental school and they are all internationals.
Have hope and you will do fine.

Have 23AA DAT w/ 4.0 sGPA and you will do fine might be more appropriate for your statement.
