So I am currently working a fulltime job and planning on taking the MCAT in September. I am considering going part-time so that I can focus more on my studying but I'm having a hard time thinking about the best possible way to approach my boss about this. I can't really tell them that I want to work less to focus on my MCAT since they don't know that I am planning on applying to med school next year. But I can't really think of any other excuses if they press me to explain my motivations for wanting to go part-time P 🙁. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

"I have some personal things going on and was wondering if changing to part-time is an option." If they ask you what it is, you don't have to divulge it. Just reassure them that your job performance won't suffer.

I'm in a similar scenario with my boss asked me what I plan on doing after graduation (working for retail pharmacy chain). I just say that I'm planning on furthering my education and would like some part time work as a pharmacist, lol. I'll probably get dumped since they don't want to hire a pharmacist for a few years that only wants to work a day a week and holidays.
