How to be a dental hygienist in the army

Hello, I'm currently serving as dental assistant in the us army.
My question is, if there is any way I can be a dental hygienist in the army base?
I want to know if I can get degree for dental hygienist while working in the unit as an assistant.

Hi @JoySY , I'm not sure this is the best place to ask with your question. Not that we don't want to help, but I doubt many people here are very familiar with hygienist programs, since they are so different than dental schools. Best of luck on your path!

No you cannot. There isn't an army dental hygiene program. You can however apply and get into a dental hygiene school and then complete a ton of paperwork to cut your ETS short and attend hygiene school. Or you can just get out and ETS then use the GI bill to pay for hygiene school and after if you want join the army as a hygienist.
