It is a program that is downloaded onto your computer that will log every thing that is typed from that point on as long as it's running. This can lead to things such as bank accounts, social security numbers, etc. being stolen.

As a relatively new member with a question, how are threads like this not considered spam and therefore deleted?

Mods are rather non-existent here for some reason

That makes sense. I've modded forums for years and I've never been to one mods that were so non-existent.

and the FAQ needs a massive overhaul. I'd be more than willing to help with that.

I apologize for not having a greater presence. With this particular incident, all I saw was a link to blog. The blog looked shady, but nothing specifically struck me. I'm still trying to determine the difference between this person posting a link to a blog and phathead linking his in his signature.

I'd say we're still pretty quick about eliminating spam, etc. The mentality of the SDN mod staff is that the boards have a pretty good homeostasis and we're here to maintain it, vice policing each action.

I'm not trying to pimp my site by any means, I'd have no problem removing my links.

That site is quite clearly spam. The posts are all over the place, the title of the site makes no sense and the ads on there scream spyware.
