I want to cancel an interview because I got into another pharmacy school.
I booked a flight and hotel few weeks ago, but I dont want to waste my time because I'm not going to go to the school anyway.
I want to know if cancelling interview somehow affects my acceptance at the other school. I dont think that's possible but just wanted to make sure.
And what's some polite way to cancel an interview? any advice would be appreciated.

No don't worry about it, just send an email and say that you no longer wish to interview but thanks for the offer.

It won't affect your admission at your other school. I personally don't think the school would mind if you canceled the interview, in fact, they would be happy you didn't waste their time and another student will be very happy to get your spot for the interview. I would try calling them and be completely honest to why you are canceling the interview.

Anyways, Congrats in getting in!

I think phoning might be a little more "polite", but that's just me. Either way, it shouldn't be a big deal, they will appreciate that you were honest and let them know ahead of time (instead of pulling a no-show). Congrats on you acceptance 🙂

No, declining an interview at one school does not affect your acceptance at another school. And polite way of canceling an interview? How about something along the lines of, "Thank you for the interview invite, but I have to decline."

Just send an email. Dont waste your time on a phone call. A quick email will do the trick and it wont affect your acceptance elsewhere.

I got an interview invite too from a school I would have only considered if I had not already received acceptances.

I declined via email.

As with all situations, think about the person(s) on the other side of the equation: it's not about you; it's about them.

As your colleagues have said, be courteous and polite. It takes little time to let the school know that you are no longer interested in their program. If you won't attend an event, let them know so that others can be invited, or if you cancel late (please give at least 3-4 days notice) meal orders can be adjusted to cut down on waste.

Just a comment from the corner office.

Congrats on your acceptance! Do you mind my asking where you have been accepted to?
