Any suggestions on how to describe an employment entry? I worked in retail about 4 years ago but the place was sold to new owners. Is it necessary to provide the contact number?

I would provide the contact number because otherwise it might look like you're purposely omitting it. Plus, I don't think that schools/VMCAS actually call to verify your info.

As far as describing employment, I took the info almost directly off of my resume.
