i am taking the mcat for the THIRD time in Aug2006. the first time i got a 22N,7 7 8, the second time around, 23P, 9 6 8. my goal is to get around a 10 9 9 this time around. i have may through august with NOTHING to do but study, and i want to begin my verbal review NOW. as u can see i want to go from a 6, i got a 7 the first time, to a 9. i think it is realistic for my to improve my PS and BS scores up by at least one point, but i have to really improve my verbal score...

what is the best way to prepare????anyone out there that has increased their verbal scores on the actual MCATS?????

anything helps,

I found that EK 101 was a lifesaver. I was in the same position as you. First time =9V, second =8V and third time = 11V. It just captures the obscurity of the passages better than TPR, in my experience.

Try to learn from your mistakes afterwards, not just look at your score.

Let's just say that I doubled my score, and you can too. 🙂

please post data on your EK Verbal tests.
i.e. EK1-score-date; EK2-score-date. I'd like to see how you've improved, and while i dont care about exact dates, i care how much time you took between each sitting of the test. Thanks

thanks. but they dont say how much time they spend between each sitting. for example i took ek1 like almost a year ago, and after a 6months break(reading some novels), my score went up from an 8 to a 10 on ek2. I wouldnt expect such a jump if you just take it every week, but i would be most interested in what happens. On the other hand if they take several practice tests in a single week, then they probably dont even go over the tests...

That's what you check the post date for 😉

really i would prefer people who had already taken the real mcat (or at least people who finished all 11 EK's) to just post their data from their notebooks, in a nice little table.

To each his own. But I don't think everyone writes down the dates of when they took a test. Just a caveat 🙂
