Hello Everyone,

I currently attend a top 25- University of California school. My yearly trend breakdown is: 3.88-> 3.74->3.61->4.0( up till winter quarter).

- I am applying this cycle with a cumulative gpa of 3.81 and Science gpa of a 3.72. My mcat is 512.

- do you recommend I take another gap year to take more classes and fix the trend? Or do you think my first three year downward trend is alleviated by my strong performance senior year and my overall cumulative gpa?

Thank you for your advice!

I mght be taking crazy pills or growing delirious from watching too much Sketchy...but that isn’t exactly “downward” trend.

Relax. Congrats on doing well. Apply. Hopefully gain admission. Be less neurotic.

I don't see anything that needs fixing.

Classic U-shaped trend that many (if not most) students have). Combine that with good to great grades every year and there’s no reason to try To fix your gpa or trends

Even though my overall gpa is alright, I am a community college transfer student. So basically at the CC I got a 3.88 and a 3.74 and at the UC I got a 3.61 and a 4.0. My cum gpa was a 3.8 at both places combined. Do you think I showed academic aptitude, even with the lackluster 3.61 during my junior year?

Get off SDN stat, because it's delusional to think that you have a downward trend.

Based on your pic I'm guessing UCLA?

Your stats are fine. I'd focus on getting your extracurriculars in order. Lots of things to get involved in in the LA area. Pick those that resonate with you.
