Hello, currently I am a freshman in college, and I would like to apply to go to dental school. However, I truly don't know what to do or where to start on getting in. The dental schools I am looking at are NYU and UCLA. Since they are competitive schools, how can I best prepare myself on getting in? Here a somethings I am worried about:
- I am an Economics major: how can I fit all of the prerequisites on my schedule but also make sure I do not overload myself? Summer classes?
- I want to do something this summer for dental: should I volunteer at a hospital? Take summer classes?
- DAT exam: when should I start studying?
- Dental path: how do I know if becoming a dentist is the correct fit for me?
- Back up plan: If I don't get into dental school, how do I prepare a backup plan now and prepare for dental school?
- Prestige of undergraduate school: does prestige matter to dental schools?
