How to go about calling the cycle finished?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This might be a bit embarrassing but I can't find the right words to withdraw from my scheduled interviews. Anyone want to help out? Short and brief?

Tell them (1) you're writing to cancel your interview scheduled for {Month Day, Year}, (2) your plans have changed and you would like to withdraw your name from consideration. Thank them nicely, and press Send.

Let em down gently and keep it simple. "Hello School X. After reviewing your offer to extend me an interview invitation, I have decided that you are no longer being considered as a potential medical school I would consider attending. You were honestly a back-up for me. I wish you all the best in your pursuits to enroll quality students to your distinguished program."

You can also add a smiley face to make it seem more genuine.

Think about it from their perspective. They have hundreds of students clamoring for a shot to interview with them. You have decided that going to your interview with them will not benefit either party. If you don't cancel, someone else can't have that chance to wow them. And the school will miss an opportunity to interview another potential student. So they are delighted to hear from you.

Everyone with any connection to this process wants to see as many people as possible find the right fit for them, and they know that not everyone will be successful. Even if you are telling admissions that you picked another school over them, you aren't hurting their feelings. You found your spot, and they are happy for you you. And you are being polite enough to let them know so that they can move on to the next candidate.

There is no reason to feel awkward. No one's feeling's are hurt. This is a happy problem to have.

Thank you everyone for great ideas!
