I am a first year med student (done in one day!), and just found out today that my best friend will be having his wedding in Hawaii next year on June 18th. Of course right when boards will be for me. When can boards be taken, will it kill me if I take a weekend off a week before them, and what would everyone do that is going through it now?

Thanks.

You can take boards whenever you are done with second year. Take them a week before the wedding and go have fun. Just make sure your 3rd year clinic orientation does not conflict! Aloha! 😎

I know I can take them before, but I don't want to sacrifice my score because I took them too early...

The wedding is June 18? That's the day I have to be back for 3rd year. It's pretty late in the game in terms of taking the boards, for many. My test date is June 9. We got out of 2nd year May 8. Do you know when you get out of classes at the end of second year? 4 weeks after that date should be sufficient to review material and take the boards.
