How to Keep Up With Current Events

What's your strategy?

i do not have TV so watching the news is not an option... so, I read recent articles online. just read newspapers online. other than that, search for essays on topics that have been in the news (i.e. health care reform). reading essays written by experts is an efficient way to get caught up on a topic.

magazines like businessweek, forbes, health, national geographic, maxim, the lancet, etc.

I set cnn.com as my homepage (specifically the health section). Each time I open my browser, I read a new article. Works fairly well. I also watch CNN everyday. You can also subscribe to WBUR today and get a daily digest of the news delivered to your inbox. Once you start slowly integrating it into your daily routine, it's not so bad.

google.com/news

if you want an easy way, go to the most popular section. you will cover your bases

I listen to NPR pretty much every time I'm in my car.

Watch Fox News, more specifically, Bill O'Reilly. "Fair and Balanced," right! 👍👍👍

👍 I LOVE NPR! My drive to work is literally 5 minutes and I'm surprised how much info and current news I can learn in such a short span of time. IMO, NPR is the best way to keep up with current events if you don't have a lot of time to read the newspaper or want to cut through all the crap on news channels.

NPR.
just put it on and never turn it off.
you can stream your local station (wbez represent) online, or get podcasts too.

also-
Firefox has this little "Latest Headlines" button on the toolbar that automatically updates the latest 40-or-so news headlines. Pretty nifty 👍
