how to know if your application is being reviewed?

Hi I was wondering if schools will notify you if your application is being reviewed? And if so, how long do you think it takes for them to review it before they make a decision about interviews.

If you read through the school specific threads you will see that time varies based on the school. I think most all schools will notify you when you are complete and eligible to be reviewed by the adcoms.
