I've found that just understanding the physiology that goes with it makes for an easier go... don't look at it as something to memorize, just try to understand why everything is happening and it'll stick. You won't need a mnemonic.

I agree with this. The cardiac cycle (if we're talking about the same thing) is the foundation for a very important organ system - one that is likely to be tested heavily. You should spend time understanding everything about it rather than having to rely on a mnemonic come test day. I thought Costanzo's physiology book was great for understanding cardio when I read it during our cardiovascular module, and it probably isn't overkill for the boads if you just need to brush up on one organ system or two.
