So as of right now im not sure im going about doing board questions the right way. I usually do about 30-50 questions and review the answers to all of them. As well I spend more time writing out info for questions i got wrong and ones where i had no clue about any of the info. It just seems to be taking too much time out of my study schedule and I cant even imagine ever finishing between 2000-3000 questions. How do you people accomplish this? Should i completely forget about reviewing right answers? And what about the wrong answers and foreign info not found in FA/BRS ect; is this info even worth taking notes on? Please help as i would like to better manage my time.

I haven't yet taken the boards ..but when I will be studying those 5 weeks , I will NOT be writing down stuff from questions . Review books are for that purpose . In my case - RR path , BRS physio , FA ..these three sources will fill the gaps to the incorrect questions . 50 questions would take 1 hour to complete and one hour to review . If certain topics are not clear then look it up in your book of choice .. just IMO ..anyway I 'm out my girlfriend is taking me out to a nice restaurant :hardy::hardy:

Im mostly referring to the info that cant be found in RR Path/BRS/FA. There seems to be alot of extravagant info that you need to know to answer some of these board questions. Is it worth learning about these discrete details or not, if you cant find it in a common review book?

in my experience so far, if you are doing UW Qs, most of the questions from there can actually be found in a review book or FA, except i never actually or really understood that info in the way UW asked in its Qs. and the way they asked it is a very good way for me to relearn the concept and reinforce old ones or even new ones.

the only section in UW which i think has more info which i cant find in FA or other books is the pharm, not bc of the principals or concept but there are a few drug name whch i never came upon across in FA or during my course in pharm

however usually those obscure drug which i dont know is always the ans choices bc i can eliminate most of the drug which i do know and that usually leaves the only one that could possibly be the ans

Thanks for the replies so far. Right now im using Kaplan Qbank but gonna be switching to World soon. Hopefully this will help out with more conceptual knowledge.
As far as one of my original questions goes is it better to go over your right answer explanations to get repetition or would I be better off just going over the wrong answers?

what i do is this

if i get a wrong ans, i made sure i read everything
if i get a right ans, there are 2 forks, 1) i actually knew the ans and 2) i sorta knew and guessed

if it was 2) i read everything too just like the wrong ans, if its 1) i will skim thro the UW explanation to confirm my thinking, analysis, concept just to see if im on the same pg as them

I used a similar method - I just read the answers to all of the questions (correct and incorrect). I learn the most from questions, which is why I was not bothered by how long it took me to go over the answers. I also believe that you can learn a lot from the answers to the questions that I got correct (1. you make sure that your reasoning for making that choice was correct 2. understanding why the other option choices were incorrect).

Good Luck
