How to set up clinicals as a IMEd Student

I was talking to my nursing supervisor this past weekend and I asked her who runs the medical program, she gave me 2 names and their locations. I was wondering should I use my resources(I know and went to school with the Vice President of Nursing's son, thats how I got my job Im pretty kool with the VP as well as some attendings) to more or less secure a spot upon acceptance to a school that such as LODZ or Warsaw. Of course Id still have to take step 1 but knowing that I have a spot ahead of time will def make the decision to go abroad easier. Anyone can agree or disagree? Or have done what I intend to do?
