How to switch what state you practice in?

I couldn't find exact info about this on here but it is something I am confused about and would like to know more about before applying. I am interested in applying out of state (I live in Michigan) but if I take the boards at an out of state school what will I have to do if I want to come back to Michigan when I am done with dental school? I know a little bit about the NERB's boards but lets say I pick a state that doesn't take their exams and I want to switch back to a state that do follow the NERB's?

It seems to vary by state, there is a good number of overlap between states accepting other exams. http://www.ada.org/5436.aspx

States accepting either exam may have additional requirements so I would look into the specific states you want to practice in. A better answer is probably found on Dental Town.
