What is the best schedule in your opinion for getting all the new pre-reqs done for the 2015 MCAT (including biochem, psychology, and sociology) in your freshman and sophomore year?

I want to MCAT study the whole summer after sophomore year and take the test sometime in late august/ early September in order to avoid studying for the MCAT while taking classes.

My idea so far:
Freshman
sem 1:
gen chem 1
physics 1
calc 1
psychology

sem 2:
gen chem 2
physics 2
calc 2
sociology

Summer
biochem

Sophomore
sem 1:
bio 1
ochem 1
calc 3

(undecided)

sem 2:
bio 2
ochem 2
diff equations
(undecided)

Summer
MCAT studying/take MCAT

My institution requires organic chemistry before biochem. I would imagine that most do.

Same here. Biochem without taking organic would not be very fun IMO.

OP, I had your thinking for a while, but figured I was burning out a bit and liked a more balanced schedule better. If it works for you go for it, but don't put all your eggs in one basked and be flexible if you are burning out. You don't want your grades to suffer for no reason when you can just take things a little easier and its totally ok.

I am going to tell you that studying for the MCAT while in school is the normal way. I will admit that my spring semester sucked, but you can take a lighter load that semester if necessary. I took biochem and physics while studying and it helped me with both my biochem and the MCAT. If you try to do to much all at once, either your grades, your ECs, research or sanity will suffer. If you try to just do research and volunteering after the MCAT you will look like you don't have a long term commitment to medicine and helping others. Spread out your courses, do everything else you need to do, take the MCAT in May and apply on time.
