Lately i've been motivated to start gunner training. I do like their method on helping you get through first aid. but its hard getting motivated to continue along with classes. Also i havent banked new cards in a while because i feel like if i dont master the ones i've banked, why should i move on.
How do you pull through this.
Can anyone help by sharing their strategy?
Thank you

Before starting my daily GT, I dunk my head in a bucket of ice water.

After doing daily questions, I like to rip phone books in half. With my teeth.

Part of this is because I started using Gunner Training halfway through last semester of 2nd year, but I ended up using it for what I thought it was best at: content that requires rote memorization. Things like pharm side effects, toxicology, microbiology, tumor presentations and histopath. I didn't touch the physiology or anything that I felt I could understand and reason my way toward.

I felt the rote memorization things were the type of content that I would have made notecards for anyway, and it's basically an expanded version of First Aid in notecard form.

Lets start with the basics...what is GunnerTraining?

Is it a Qbank or a program like DIT? I keep hearing people talking about cards but I have no idea what any of that means? Thanks.

Eh take what I have to say with a grain of salt because I'm still experimenting how to use GT, and I'm also M1 so I'm sure people who are much closer to taking the steps and have been using GT know better how to use the program.

I'm integrating GT right in with my school studies now. Since GT is basically First Aid this can only be a good thing. What do I mean by integration? Whatever I learn in class that day, I look over the lectures, and I see which GT flashcards correspond to it. I like making my own flashcards for regular school class lectures based off their powerpoints (I <3 flashcards), and I also add in the GT flashcard stuff into my own flashcards too. This should help me remember the little details for tests, and also learn and store the info on the GT flashcards too.

I'll admit I have stuff on GT flashcards memorized which I dont get the concept or cant make a connection to it to anything else. I just know it because I was repeatedly exposed to the same question on GT after getting it wrong a million times. This isnt good but I suspect I'm not the only one. Later when I get time I'll have to figure out what I memorized...and that sucks but this happens (to me at least lol)
I bank cards as I learn the material in school. There is stuff I havent mastered yet I have banked...but I prefer to bank alongside what I learn and during my break period I'll try to master the stuff which I suck at.

For stuff that is much more concept heavy like physio or something, I dont do flashcards for that...I just try to understand BRS physio or whatever review book inside out.

Long shot, but...

I started using Gunner Training because I really liked their methodology, but their interface really isn't my cup of tea.

I still have a 3 month voucher - is anyone interested in buying it (PayPal)? I think 3 months is $79? But the voucher is $29. [If you're afraid this is a scam, I believe PayPal has some sort of buyer protection so it's a good way to go.]
