This is a pretty dumb question, but here goes.

I was granted a deferral (UC Davis) and was asked to write a letter of intent to hold my place in the class. So far my letter is exactly two sentences, just saying that I intend to enroll in 2003. It looks riduculous on the page, and I was wondering if anyone else has to write this stupid letter? What, if anything, have I forgotten to include?

I think you're fine. It's just a formality.

If you really need to fill some space you could just say thank you for allowing them to let you defer and the time and effort they put into your application and interview. I don't know, just a thought.

Yeah....as stated above thank them for granting you a deferral and also add something about how you look forward to starting next year/be part of the 2003 entering class.
