Any thoughts on Drexel's situation with their hospital closing down? I know there is a new one planned to open, but wondering how this may impact the quality of Drexel's program short term and long term.
I asked a Drexel student and their reply was:
Honestly with longterm, it is really hard to say how the fallout will affect the program (doesn’t help Drexel itself is being sued by former physicians at HUH).

Short term, doesn’t seem to matter. Programs know Drexel produces quality physicians. I also look at the fact that only 1/3 of students were ever rotating at HUH at a given time. I never did a rotation there.

As far as a “new hospital”, this isn’t true. It is that Drexel is opening a second campus out in Reading at Reading Hospital.

None of my classmates seem to be struggling getting interviews. I have been asked about it at all of my interviews, but the PD’s I’ve spoken with didn’t seem super concerned and just sympathetic overall

It won't really affect the school all that much. A new hospital system is already in agreement with Drexel for residencies re-opening already through Tower Health. Drexel still has it's same other affiliate sites, is opening a new branch campus, and still maintains it's outpatient services in and around the city. I wouldn't worry about it.
