Summer: Physics I

Summer II: Organic & Chem I (retaking)

Fall: Genetics, Pre-calculus (retaking), Chem II (retaking)

Too weird?

If it's the typical summer session for each of those courses, it shouldn't be too bad.

Summer II might be a bit busier but since you're retaking Chem I, it shouldn't take too much of your time.

It's still doable, but you'll be busy the whole time.

I wouldn't waste my time retaking Chem I and instead put more time into doing well in Organic.

It might be the OP's personal decision. You never know what the OP is going through and what kind of a situation the OP might be facing.

Did y'all noticed that the sequence is a bit off? Why take Chem I and OChem in the same Summer semester and take Chem II in the Fall?😕

Chem I and Chem II are retakes, like the OP noted.

Yes well I tried to just leave physics on there because it's one of the prereqs I haven't even taken once, and I didn't wanna put another with it cause I also wanted to have study time for the pcat exam.

I will tell you this from experience. OChem will be a b**** especially in the Summer. I took OChem II Summer II last year and it was the hardest B I ever earned. It was only 4-5 weeks long and we had about 6-8 chapters per test every week. Not to mention some other BS that occurred during those 4-5 weeks.🙄 Good luck though. Not discouraging you from taking that particular class in the Summer, but I just wanted to let you know what to look forward to.😉

My summer is broken down is a similar way too.

Summer A: Gen Chem II and Trig (Retake-Withdrew since I was about to avg a C+ or a low B.
Summer B: Anatomy and Physiology II and some Online Humanities class.

For Fall
Orgo Chem I, Biology II, Precal, Biomedical Ethics

Provided that I pass all of the classes, I'd like my Winter schedule to look like this
Orgo Chem II, Microbiology, Calculus, Statistics
Or should I replace Microbiology with Physics 1?

What text book were you using? How many chapters did you cover that semester? (24 minimum) My entire OChem book (I & II) only has 31 chapters and we didn't do a few chapters.

I took OChem I in the morning along with Bio II at night last Summer I session and loved being focused on only 2 topics. Sure, the days were painfully long, but it was like ripping off a band-aid ... just do it and it feels good afterwards. (not a lifestyle I would subscribe to, but can sustain it in the short run)

I think it was "Organic Chemistry" by McMurry. It had about 31 chapters as well. We skipped like the last 2 chapters because we ran out of time.🙄

Yeah we used McMurry also, but we used the book over both OChem I and II.

i switched it...so hows physics one with chem one summer one and summer 2 just organic 2?

Why not take OChem in the Fall? It will make your life so much easier. The only upside to taking OChem in the summer is that you will get done with it a lot faster but your GPA may suffer. It's really hard to grasp it in such a short time.

Yeah I think the main reason is because I wanted to work as a Pharm Tech during Fall semester but even then I'll still have 3 classes so I really don't know how its all going to work out in the end.

i agree with delano. orgo is definitely something that takes a while to grasp (for most). i think it will be worth it to take it in the fall. it would be hard to work as a tech while in school...i mean its possible but would be even harder while taking hard science courses! id say maybe wait til winter break to find a tech job and start then?

I worked 24 hrs per week all while taking 18 credit hrs in school.

And he had to walk to school in the snow for 2 miles uphill both ways. :meanie:

But I also worked part-time while maintaining a full course load. I even work during during pharmacy school now. It is just a matter of priorities and time management.

Uphill both ways, no problem, but you draw the line at snow? Well, excuse me. :meanie:

Also, did you go to school in FL? The "he" I was referring to was you.

Wow how did you do it lol. I had to drop one of my classes I was working 30+ with 17 credits. Way to much stress especially a night job like mines :/

Wow I just noticed I didn't mention it was ORG 2 Im gonna take summer II...would it be fine with precal instead?

Well that was incredibly rude.😡:slap:

I probably should have mentioned that eventually I had to drop one of the classes later that semester.

All I'm gonna say is good luck.😀 I loathed Pre-Calc.👎

Oh and OChem II was harder than Orgo I in my opinion. So many reactions and reagents.

well you know to be honest i guess cause our teacher only covered radical mechanisms in literally two class periods but they are killer so far....
