Okay - well the Navy picked up, but I'm currently on hold until I can get my weight a little lower (very tall, athletic-looking body with extra poundage I am working hard to remove). But I was told that as long as I can make tape, they would start delving into my application a little deeper. I can currently meet the run standard, and can max out situps/pushups.
The Air Force hasn't picked up phone calls (it has been over a week now) and I've tried multiple region locations... even the flight chief! I've tried emailing, leaving voicemails...
And then to cover my bases I have also tried the Army, but I've gotten passed on from one person to the next with a "Oops, that's not my job - you want to speak to person xyz" a few times and now the final person in that line hasn't picked up.
I'm feeling like maybe I wouldn't have a chance anyway since it is so late in the season - but I don't even know what the "season" really is... I know recruiters have quotas, so does this mean all slots are filled now?
I am a 27-yr old military brat from a family of many military members from different branches. Father served 25 years in the Marine Corps and my brother is also USMC, following in his footsteps so to say. Being a military doctor has ALWAYS been my dream and making money in a career wasn't really a priority for me. I'm more interested in military/emergency medicine, but it is flexible. I worked in the ED for 3.5 years and thrive in that area, but I could live without it. Now I have achieved one milestone in getting accepted to a medical school, but I am struggling to figure out how to go about the other one. I start school this fall... Anyone have any advice on how to navigate here? What do I need to do?
Thank you very much,
J
