Longtime lurker. Basically, I am an HPSP individual who is now completing a civilian residency and will start active duty in July. Potentially looking at purchasing a home and need to verify income for my bank. I know this typically would be done through your LES but as we havent had any of these that is impossible. Does anyone have any good ideas of who to contact and get in touch with to potentially receive some type of letter with this? Thanks

For AD homebuyers, usually a letter from someone in your chain suffices. For AF, there is something on vMPF that is an MFR for position verification. If you are on a civ deferral, I would either contact your civ deferral AF reserve admin folks or call your future base and see if someone low in your chain will sign an MFR that you can type up.

When I started residency and purchased my first home, I gave the lenders a copy of my orders, along with a printout from military.com (or something like that) specifying what my BAH, BAS, base pay, and bonus structure would be. Since DC is a military-dense area, they did not have an issue with that.

I'm in a similar boat (finishing civilian residency, going on AD in July). The lender I'm working with said they'd accept a copy of my orders and look up what they needed to online. Unfortunately, still no orders, though I've had the assignment since February. Puts a damper on nailing down the details, but hopefully won't be waiting much longer.
To the OP, curious whether you have orders in hand already? If you do, that should be enough for income verification.

So, now that residency is coming to a close, I am once again going through this process. The lender at my next duty station wanted the same stuff, no orders yet, so I just sent her my welcome letter from the hospital. This may not work for you, as I have my LES to prove that I am currently an active duty military physician.

Just received orders last Friday after a long wait. Feels to good to have them in hand and hopefully yours will be coming soon. When I went to get preapproved I had laid out that information for them to show them exactly what my income would be and they were fine at that time. I will try that approach again and see. I have also been in contact my duty station to see if they will be able to help at all as well. Thanks again to everyone.
