hSDN Class of 2012

It would have to be worth their time, though. The sedative would have to be less expensive than a kidney on the black market so that they'd break even.

Maybe they took both of your kidneys to compensate for the sedatives. 😱

An excellent point. Or kidney failure. Hard to have failing kidneys when you don't have kidneys to begin with.

That is so cute! X3

I hope there's no jaundice to manifest... Strangely enough, gall bladder problems run more frequently in my family than kidney problems. Not even gallstones, either. The bile thickens into sludge and causes blockages. 😱

Woah, you should definitely keep an eye on that, Conflagration.

On a completely different note I have been playing ping-pong every night for a month. So much fun, and I am finally starting to improve!

(Not serving into the net so much, for example).

Ooh, that sounds fun.

I want to get into swimming. =D

Nice Cee, I love ping pong. I'm trying to learn computer programming this summer. All I've done though is install the software and test it.

Also, I got a new kitty!

Squee! That is the cutest kitten I've seen in a while. x3

OH MY GOSH. The cuteness. I can barely handle it. 😍

I'm not in the class of 2012, but I fell obliged to say something. That is the best damn picture I've ever seen of a kitten in a very very long time. Did you adopt him/her?

Yeah she's adopted. her name is Leonard (Our other cat is also a girl and named Larry).

Oh. My. God. Those two should totally become a dynamic duo. Tinycat and Behemothdog. Or something.

I work at a movie theater, and we just got done playing Xbox on 30 foot screens. Pure awesome.

I finished a 5k race yesterday! 27:33!

I am trying to decide whether or not to train for a marathon. The Deadwood/Mickelson Trail marathon was a couple weeks ago (I volunteered at an aid station) and it looked AWESOME. And painful. I just can't decide if i'm serious enough about that shizz.

5k? Lol, I can't jog a mile. XD

You could do it, I'm sure. =D

I would strongly recommend against doing a marathon so quickly. I would train for a 10K and possibly a half marathon before attempting the full gauntlet. Just my opinion, though.

Hi guys,
I am wondering if you any of you guys got accepted in any prestigious colleges. Please do share. Thanks.

I got accepted to Campbell. =)

It's decently known. Its two main features are the pharmacy and law schools.

Iron Man is pretty awesome. =D

I know some mods have gif pictures.

MWF: Bio 1, Chem 1, Calc 1, and an honors program class. Tuesday I have a 3 hour chem lab, and Thursday I have a 3 hour bio lab. My second semester schedule looks like it'll be much the same, except I'll have my first major-specific class too :soexcited: Ahh! I can't wait to start this fall. 😀

I'm thinking physics 1 Orgo 1 writing class (intro to comp sci or Econ 1) physics and Orgo labs.

I noticed several people are taking Chem 1 and Bio 1... why such a rush?

Mine is:

Chem 1 (Mon-Thu) and Chem lab (3hrs on Wed)
Calc 1 (MTWF)
Microecon (online)
and a required for all freshmen Humanities course (T, TH, F)

Excited and anxious at the same time :prof:

Some people (me at least) would prefer to take the old MCAT over the new one. That's why I'm taking the classes I'm taking.

My preliminary schedule:

General Biology (Introduction to Ecology and Evolution)
General Chemistry I
Calculus I or II
First-Year Seminar on The American Environmental Imagination

That's how my major is set up. 👍

Agreed! 🙂

So, what exactly is this new MCAT business? I've heard rumblings about it, but what's going to be different?

The new MCAT will be divided into four sections:
  1. Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems (Biology, Orgo/Biochem)
  2. Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems (Gen. Chem, Physics)
  3. Sociological, Psychological, and Biological Foundations of Behavior ** New (Psychology, sociology, animal behavior?)
  4. Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills - Critical reading on a variety of topics, potentially topics related to ethics, issues in medicine, sociology, history, etc.
Basically, section 3 is new, if I understand this correctly.. Sections 1, 2, and 4 represent the biological science, physical science, and verbal sections respectively.

EDIT: If you're becoming a veterinarian, I'm pretty sure most schools require the GRE, but I'm sure you're well aware of that.
Additionally, here is my tenative schedule for ths fall:
Honors Biology I/Lab
Honors Chemistry I/Lab
Introduction to Anthropology
Calculus II (Thinking of changing this to a psychology class, or maybe a stats class.)
A 1 credit hour musical ensemble - maybe a symphony, wind ensemble, etc.

Total of 16 or 17 credit hours.

EDIT 2: More information on 2015 MCAT

Much more specific test information can be found at https://www.aamc.org/students/download/266006/data/2015previewguide.pdf .
It has a section-by-section breakdown of what's tested.

I could take either, I'm not sure if I should rush or just wait until junior year.

I may take it sophomore year so that I don't end up waiting for the test score before submitting the AMCAS.

Agreed. Starting a 10K program.
