is the same as pseudohypoparathyrodism? If so, why is this called "pseudo?"
 
It's pseudo because it appears that the parathyroid gland isn't working (low calcium high phosphate etc) yet the parathyroid hormone is high. This is due to resistance to the parathyroid hormone (dysfunctional Gs alpha subunit). So that is the key looks like hypoparathyroidism but the PTH levels are the opposite (high vs low).
