While I was filling out AADSAS last week, I got a call from NYU, and she asked me if I still have interest in NYU. Then I got an email this morning and I am invited for personal interview. My stat is 3.4/22, but I applied in December and I hadnt heard anything form then. Welll, I see many waitlisted people here, and I live in California. Do you think that I have high possibility of acceptance?

It is unlikely that given the date, they would drag you to NY is they didn't have a genuine interest in you. It sounds like they are looking for something specific and you fit the bill or maybe they finally decided they tormented you long enough for applying so late.

You better go if you have not been accepted yet

I would go.... especially if you were planning on applying to them again. Let them know you really what to go there or something.

You can go and I will wish you the best.Im currently onthe waitlist at NYUCD

It's unlikely that they'll interview for an open spot. Most likely they're interviewing you for the waitlist, and given the date, you'll probably be way down on the waitlist. But none of this should stop you from going to the interview, specially if you haven't heard from anywhere else. Just go to the interview. If nothing else, you get to see the school and meet with some of the admission officers.
Good Luck👍

If there are still people on their waitlist from previous rounds of interviews, why would they interview new people?
Nevertheless, I think you should go. You have nothing to lose.

If they're seeking you out when loads of people are calling in just to get off the waitlist (like myself) it must be a good sign!

::So jealous!::

if u haven't been to nyc before, then treat it as a nice vacation! you have nothing to lose. Either way, you should have a great time. good luck!

hey when is your interview?

it all happened in a week.

That's one of my questions. If they still have people like you on their waitlist, why reach out and interview new people?

I guess they didn't like the people on the waitlist, that is a bit odd though.
That doesn't make sense though. Why put someone on the waitlist if you don't plan on taking them, should spots become available?!

The 22 on the DAT probably didn't hurt. It is unlikely that they just interview "new people", but they are likely to interview "special" people.

hmmm...I guess. Does a 22 make you special?
Guess I'm special then😀
