Lol.
I don't understand how people can be this paranoid.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using SDN Mobile
...and afterward I emailed the interviewer saying "thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon."
But...I got no reply! Is that bad? Was it a mistake to say "I hope to hear from you soon" ?
Thanks.
dude, tutoring sucks

Hey guys I didn't want to post another thread on tutoring so I'm gonna stick my question in here since the OP pretty much got his answer. MY answer: I wouldn't worry about it.
Now my question: I am volunteering for an Adult Literacy here in my town. Basically adults that can't read and need help attaining a GED and such. Is that a good volunteer option or should it be more children based?

Why does it matter if they are children instead of adults?
Hey that's my question, haha. I didn't know if ADCOMs recommended one way or the other.
I don't blame you for asking this question.
First of all, not everyone speaks English as their first language so it's important to not be close-minded.
Second of all, I've recently been a little hesitant to use "hear from you soon". It's not something I lose sleep over but I often take an extra second to think about it before sending out an e-mail because saying "soon" could imply that you are rushing them for a response. I've started saying "I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience" as an alternate 🙂

"At your earliest convenience" is a great suggestion, thanks for that.
And I agree, too many people demonize others for asking "stupid" questions. IMO it's stupid not to get advice when you can. If something is weighing on someone's mind enough for them to articulate a post, you should at least be respectful if you can't be helpful.
This is also a public site. For every OP asking a question, there are several visitors wondering the same thing.
You're falling for a classic psychological trap if you allow your anonymity to be the end of your basic humanity.
