Another where to apply question. I have a 3.14 overall grade point and 3.00 science GPA from the University of Michigan. Lots of shadowing and volunteering and 2 publications. Next year, I am doing a masters at Wayne State and I am taking the DAT at the end of June. Here is my list so far:

- University of Michigan (I am a MI resident)
- University of Detroit Mercy
- NYU
- Midwestern
- BU
- Case
- Temple

After hours on AADA guide and predent.com I can't decide between:
- ASDOH
- UofP
- USC
- Marrquette
- Buffalo
- Columbia
- Ceighton
- Tuffs, Maryland (the problem with them is that they need 1 bio and 1 chem LOR and I don't have a chem one- I could try to get one but it wouldn't be as strong)

PLEASE HELP!!!

Sounds like you've done your research . . . which is smart.

It will be easier for you to narrow down your top choice preferances after going on interviews.
You'll get a much better feel for the schools after visiting them.

The reason why other people pick certain schools will be different than the reasons you chose them. It's really an individualized decision, but good luck!

I am trying to narrow that list down because I heard that they frown upon people who apply to many schools. Is this true and which of those schools do you think are less competitive or really value improvement?

Schools don't know where you apply. The only school that asked was NYU.

tufts and maryland want a chem LOR?? what if you have a committee letter w/o a chem LOR. my chem classes were huge lecture halls...i didnt know any of the profs....any advice????

Toss a professor a couple hundred to write you up a sexy LOR, just sit next to him and see what he writes 😀

this is what Tufts' website says: "two letters of recommendation (one from a Biology professor and one from a Biochemistry, Chemistry, Math or Physics professor) or a pre-professional composite committee letter;"

Im also having trouble deciding where to apply, but since applications cost a lot of money, I think I will narrow down to school that I would honestly like to go to considering things such as curriculum, location, size, etc. There is probably no point in applying to a school that you would not want to end up going to.
