Hi, I live in Vancouver, and I'm going abroad to study dentistry. I tried to get private loans but all the banks told me that I need a co-signer since I'm moving out of Canada.

I called Student Aid service, but they can lend me only $16640(CAD) per year. I need $50,000 more to support my education and living costs.

Is there any other way to get a loan without a co-signer? I'm really desperate here.

I'm by no means an expert on this, but I think there's just no way to get a loan and leave the country unless the bank has the guarantee of a co-signer who is not leaving the country. But try asking your question on the dental boards at www.premed101.com which is for Canadian students. Someone may have a better idea.
If not through a bank, could you maybe go through a private lender? The interest rate will be ridiculously high, but maybe it will be worth it.

Welcome to America. We do things a little bit differently here. Lots of students have to work to pay for school. Track stars pay off school by working as a stripper, in case you havn't been watching the news. You should look into it. Welcome to the American Dream.

So, is America random pieces for cereal? Or still cereal in a bag?
