i wish people would just answer the question as opposed to all the snarky answers on here. posting the link was good.
anyway, the exam is mostly passages... but has some stand-alone questions. i jump to the stand-alones first
here's my take on passages:
the biology/biochem ones are really hard to read and interpret....... the other 3 sections (chem/phys, CARS and P/S) are generally fairly easy to read. occasionally P/S's one can be rough (usually relating to an experiment)
on all passages, the 4-6 questions on the passage do NOT rely on you understanding the first concept of the passage. i.e. if the question is about XXXX amino acid, most of the questions are answerable if you have no idea about that amino acid. many/most of the questions don't necessarily require knowledge of AA's. i.e. a question will be asked about a chemistry graph at the end of the passage. or you'll need to answer a question about a later titration......... basically when people one passage might cover OC, ch, phys, bc, usually the questions are answerable with one aspect of the passage, NOT compound questions where if you don't understand one important concept you will get zero for five on the questions.
get "whats on the MCAT" pdf from AAMC............ it explains alot of what you might wonder about.
