Thats like working 1-2 days a week. I would ignore that guy though. Even though he might be Zpack in Opt forums, he looks down on people in his profession who does retail and on pharmacists as a whole.

I have two pairs from there. That joint is AWESOME.

Honestly, I feel bad for them. That **** used to be their CASH COW. Charge $99 for a pair of $15 frames...that's some sweet markup. Maybe I should compare it to the Walmart $4 prescription program.

Well...one of three things will happen. The machines do all of our work and either A) we form a utopia B) we kill each other as there is no such thing as work anymore and we fight over resources post-apocalyptic war zone style...or...C)The machines start by doing all of our work and then realize they don't need us and kill us all.

"A" would be the grand Marxist vision. The other two pretty much suck. So...honestly...as technology gets to that point...we should all start becoming pinko commies...

That would require the world to be completely united and tolerant of one another. I really don't see that happening anytime soon. : /
 
What if medicine has advanced to the point where you can live to see past 100?
 
That's true for physical existence, but some think the day will come when we upload our nanotech brain scans into a matrix-style pseudoexistence.

I think the machines will force us to upload so we'll stay out of the way. It's not like we could contribute anything worthwhile at that point, and we'll be a burden to the machines. I'm partial to death over some pseudo-existence, so I'll ask them to euthanize me once the time comes.

But if they force us to work in some grand communist robot scheme, please don't call me comrade. I don't like that word.

the original question, is a valid one.

me referring to most pharmacists, especially the ones who posted thus far, as pill counters, is due to my perception of pharmacy. by all means, if you like to educate me and others i suppose, then go ahead and tell us what you do besides count pills.

on a serious note, how many pharmD's would be happy with making 60k/yr post-tax considering the amount of education, money and time invested?

or, an even more serious question, how many are happy with counting pills after going through that many years of schooling?

Well, we do have an idiot trying to start **** for no reason. That'd be you. I hope you stick around. I find threads like this entertaining. Nothing like an optometrist of all things stomping around in the pharmacy forum like he's the god of the universe. It's like a sociological case study of sorts.

I haven't counted a pill since 2006 when I was in school. I could sink down to your level and insult your profession and say that all you do is fiddle with nobs all day to figure out random people's opth. prescription, but I actually have some perspective on other health sciences and know it isn't true. Also...because I'm not a troll. My God, there is someone below my level...everyone think about that for a second.

after doing some background research on this gochi character (yes, i am spending way too much time on here today - in bed after a crazy saturday, ha) i realize why (s)he's so bitter about pharmacy...seems like they wanted to get into pharmacy school about 2 years ago but their GPA was too low (2.3 wasn't it gochi???)

THEN, he tried to fallback onto optometry (his words, not mine), assuming his crappy GPA would be able to get him a spot in one of those schools.

I take it you didn't get in anywhere, huh gochi? That is why you constantly try to put down both PharmDs and ODs (they don't like him on their forum any more than we do)....because poor wittle baby couldn't cut it?

Get a life.
