about study hours
i studied for 4 to 5 months ..but i took breaks in the middle.........i went to tours ....
i wrote toefl in the middle
for the first 4 months i studied for about 6 hrs....not on weekends
but the last month i studied for 8 to 9 hrs ......except weekends

material:
i didn't do kaplan review
i studied
1.few topics in kaplan lecture notes
2.USMLE first aid
3.clinical micro,anatomy made ridiculously simple
4detal decks
5.question papers
6.my notes
7.lippincott biochemistry

but to tell u the truth .....i was not confident enough even the last day...

as u have exam in 1 month......u go on revise ,revise and revise...........
don't do any new books......do question papers a lot.......they willl help you...
even if u don't get the same questions you will know how to answer..


take question papers and do them once ...if u feel u have any doubt in any topic revise that topic.................


i felt the same before exam even worse than you...everybody will feel the same.don't worry u can do it.......

for the last 4 or 5 days.....i just did q papers and my notes....i didn't do anything else.......
don't read any new topics....u should not miss a question which u already know.......
u don't bother about weird questions because they are tough for everybody.......don't target for those questions


u should not miss something u know already


for example i thought i did anatomy very............good.i am confused only with 4 or 5 questions............
i thought i will get maximum marks in that....
i didn't even review the answers in the exam......
but i got less in that cmpared to other subjects.........[i don't say it is less but .........i thought i did tooooooo good in anatomy]
so be careful about silly mistakes.....like we will think 'b' but we will keep 'c'
i think i did those mistakes in anatomy

about anatomy books:clinical anatomy made ridiculously simple is very good book....we will read thorax,abdomen andlimbs tooo much and neglect head and neck......dont do this mistake...............
concentrate more on head and neck and histology because we will get most of the questions from them.
and read some high yield topics from remaining.
even after that if u get any different question u can guess it in the exam....
but don't read anatomy for those fewww questions.........


don't worry about anything .....u do what u feel right .....
revise and revise and revise.............

if u already know the subject those books will take like maximum 2 or 3 days each.....[u should put in some extra hrs]

but u will retain more after reading those books
that's what i feel.

but definetly studying those books will not be a waste of time

about lippincott biochemistry it is very long can u tell us what to study in this HUGE book!

how was DA

in lippincott u have to read secnd messengers,metabolism,michaelis menton,henderson hasselbach equations,hemoglobin structure,
metabolism u can read it all it is very simple in that,
replication,transcription,translation,
few things about DNA cloning,genome library,cDNA library,PCR recation

enzymes used in these processes.

for DA i am not at all eligible to suggest you books but i read decks,kaplan,little bit of wheelers and some notes
thats all
even if u read more books u can get confused because in each book tooth morphology is given differently atleast in thigs like shapes.....
so these are enough for morphology..
for occlusion i think u have to read little bit of prostho.......articulators chapters.......i mean not articulators but in that section may be they have given how to record all the CR etc and variations
otherthan that i don't know from where are they giving those questions

hi sweet,
if you know the basics just dental decks and question papers are enough.
but if your basics are not strong i suggest you to once go through the books u already read in ur UG.
i don't mean that u should study them for months together.....but go through them once
once u know the basics u can answer any type of question .....
don't worry u will do it fine.it's not very tough.
but workhard .....u can get through it easily

i have seen micro.............its given v good....................but do we need to do each and every line of micro..................is that much of detail req.?

i think part 1 is only a part of the application .they will see over all.....
they didn't mention any minimum score as far as i know
but i think above 83 is a good score..

this was my first attempt.u r asking about the practice tests right.
i used to get above 85 and 90 in 80 's and 90's papers but in 99,2000,2002
i used to get very low score...
may be i got above 85 in released papers because i have answers for them🙂

i am sorry i was not able to reply to all ur mails as i was busy with my interview process.....
somebody asked me if decks are enough .......if u know ur basics well yes decks are enough .....just refresh ur memory know parts where they concentrate more and u can give the exam.
but for people like me ....i don't have good basics sooo.... i read my text books tooo.....
i didn't study the kaplan review material .....
i read the text books which i read before and made ridiculously simple books,
decks and always use to see interactive animations on the net to understand processes......and ofcourse q papers

but don't follow me blindly ....this pattern suits me ...may be not for u......




some of u are asking me answers for unreleased papers....
sorry friends i thought they were already released and posted them.......but they removed my post......
so sorry but for an specific questions if u need answers tell me......
