I got rejected from more schools than you did! (Rejection Humor Thread)

one of the schools I applied to this year made me laugh out loud.

first, the director sent an email saying i was waitlisted, post interview, but higher than the wait list (whatever that means)

second, i replied, stating i would like to be removed as i'd decided on somewhere else

third, the director sent an email saying they decided to accept me

fourth, the director sent an almost immediate followup saying they did not realise i had decided to decline

fifth, a month later, a letter dated april 21 arrived in the mail saying i was rejected.

Nice.

Total rejections: 18 from two rounds of applying.

First round, I only applied to 5 schools based on location...instead of on fit or research interests. I was successful the second time. Second round: 3 interviews/3 acceptances. Attending my top choice
