I have a C+ in statistics. Is it worth retaking?

I have a 3.8 GPA and equal sciGPA, but I have a C+ in stats from years ago. I was a sole provider for my family at the time (I hate that excuse, but it's true), and aside from that I'm not even sure why I did so poorly, because I'm a strong math student. I have As in my university's entire calculus sequence, differential equations, and linear algebra, but I just did crummy in stats. Is it worth retaking at a random community college? (I graduated) If so will this make a big difference at all, particularly to MD medical schools?

Statistics is a pretty important for medicine, and I do understand it.

No. It is not necessarily, nor will it really help you.

If you're worried that they may look down on your for your stats performance, your other courses speak to your strength in math and quantitative sciences.

No. Why would you retake with a 3.8 GPA? How will it help you?

ty. What about 2 Cs in physics? those + stats are the only Cs I've received in college and I have As and Bs in all the other prereqs. I get physics better now, but I'm thinking it ain't worth it.

I had a C+ in one of my gen chem courses, and a C in one of my intro bio courses

The Cs in Physics don't sound pretty, but I certainly wouldn't retake, if that's what you're thinking of doing.
SDN consensus seems to be that if you can do well in higher level courses, it'll be (relatively) shrugged off.
Not sure how likely you are if you took some more advanced Physics courses. Not sure how well you would fare after 2 Cs in intro physics, either.

If your sGPA really is 3.8, though, as you say, it sounds like you have a lot of BCPM classes that speak to your ability in the sciences. Don't worry about it.

I appreciate the feedback.
Yes, I have lots of bio and chem prereqs and upper divs with good grades 🙂.
I tried taking an upper div physics course and withdrew from it. Physics is a subject that really confuses my brain, even though I did decent on the mcat stuff after a lot of reinforcing myself and extra studying. Would it be fair to say that physics is probably one of the least significant premed reqs?

Yeah, I really wouldn't worry. Even with my 3.38 sGPA, the only course an interviewer commented on was my organic chemistry (because I did relatively well in those courses and organic chemistry always has this 'this class is tough' aura)
