Yes, a PGY2 residency. And it has to be at one of the top teaching hospitals in the U.S.

If you fulfill those requirements, you have a 25% chance of getting the job at CVS. Walgreens, on the other hand, is only a 15% chance.

CVS is the highest paying place for Pharmacists. Do you think they are just going to be handing those out to anyone? Salaries are expected to rise to ~200k by 2026. However jobs are going to go to the top people. Average Joe pharmacists aren't going to cut it anymore. You need to live, breath, and dream pharmacy. You have to go to one of the top ten schools. Then you have to fight with ~10k applicants to only 2k resideny spots. You have to apply to your resideny spot again after each year of resideny.

The key part in resideny is DENY! You really need to maintain a near 4.0 average in a great pharmacy school. If you manage all that, you get a great job though! You basically just talk to insurers and tell people that your tech didn't actually steal their new remote control, they just put it in between the box of granola bars and the grapefruit juice that they have in their bag, you also add that you hope they don't plan on drinking the grapefruit juice themselves as it has bad interactions with their medication. :meanie:

I knew you guys would not let me down..great comments....keep them coming.

I heard you had to be related to someone who works in upper management to get a job at CVS. Of of couse it helps if you have the coveted new PGY-III, community pharmacist advance practice residency. There are only 20 slots nationwide.
