I have a stupid question, so be prepared. I am taking my first lab classes ever this semester, and had a quick question. The first day of the new semester, my first class of the day is my Chemistry lab. Do I show up at that lab time, even though I have the class hours right after it? I was going to show up regardless to be careful, but if any of you knew the correct answer I would appreciate it. Thanks.

it sounds like you have the lab at one time and the lecture at a later time; so yes, you show up to your lab time. it is likely not in the same room though so check your schedule for rooms.

at my school though, labs don't meet the first week anyway

Check the syllabus- at my school some lab courses meet the first week of class and others do not.

At my school, labs don’t meet the first week of classes. Just email the professor. If you are meeting, it could possibly be a safety review/lab procedures intro etc.

Just email your lab TA or the lab instructor. At my school, we meet the first week, but it’s just to go over safety procedures and pick your bench.

There are no dumb questions! Individual questioning is how we all learn new things.

If its easily found online, or was already explicitly said, then its a dumb question.

There are labs that gather during first week. They may usually announce rules, have an introduction or do some test.

In my Orgo Lab we were assigned tables and drawers, locks, and had to check-in and sign for all the equipment.

Your Lab TA/Professor will probably email everyone before the first day of class to let you all know whether to come to lab or not. If there isn't an email, you should just show up.
