I have never read anything like this...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
wow, that is one of the most disgusting things ive ever read. I would like to do root canals on all of this guy's teeth with no anesthesia. and THEN shoot him in the head.

HAHAHAHA...Do I believe it?
Not one bit surprised. (Sort of happened to me, very sadly) Some dentists pretend that patients have some caries that are not actually developed to make some extra money. As for caps...thats sad.

pulpotomies (sp?) and baby crowns are very necessary in many cases, however there is no way you can justify 16 of them. especially not in one visit.

Dr. Mangola?

however the complaints against the restraints don't seem to hold much water. its often necessary to use them in pedo practices. Also, the walls are sound proof in many of those operatories because of screaming kids.

I work in a pediatric dental office. While I don't know if it is illegal, it is extremely unethical to not ask the parents before restraining their child, not to mention how unethical it is to not get parental consent before treatment. The only times we use restraints are when we work on handicapped patients, some of whom can't physically hold still, and when the parents of other patients are against sedation for religious or other reasons. In the latter case, the parents want us to restrain their kids, and oftentimes they help us out. A little traumatizing for a kid who already doesn't want to be there, but hey, the work has to be done.

Unfortunately there are going to be a few bad apples in any profession. 👎

Look at what happened in Tampa three teachers arrested for having illicit sexual relationships with their students in a space of 2 weeks last month!😱

Wow that's just disturbing. I also assisted for a pediatric dentist who's policy was that the parents HAD to be in the office when he was working on their child, not only for support and comfort, but for security measures too in case the child did have to be retrained (so the parents could help calm them). It was a really great system.

This article is so upsetting. What a bunch of bastards, seriously.

I would rather be sexually assaulted while unconscious than have 16 unnecessary crowns.
