Are we really laughing because I refuse to give credit for a succesful surgery to a necklace?

People enjoy trinkets and rituals even when they know full well that there's no otherworldly powers to be attributed to them. Why? They're fun. People are laughing because you're overthinking this and being condescending to someone much, much more qualified than you.
