1st way your options. Which are:
1) take it over
or
2) see about MS programs that allow you to practice and sit for state exams once your are done. You will have to take part 2 as well . but scores are not as important as they are for the ASPs.
MS or Masters programs are usually 2-3 yrs in a specialty, like Perio or Pros. Theses are the more popular MS programs. There are plenty of people doing them. You should do your own research for this option and see if it is best for you.
Rule of thumb.
Take the test over and try your best to get a 90 or better.
It is very hard to do it when you do not have the luxury of working part time or not at all. I am sure there are many people here who share your sentiment and struggle.
Keep positive and rely on yourself to find a way to manage your time.
The thing about working full-time and trying to micro-manage your time to study and care for your responsibilities, is that you have to extend the amount of time before you take the test again. It is in my opinion, the only solution to doing it and getting the score you need.
Remember you passed. That is something to motivate you. the success on taking the exam again is on your side. Statistically, it is in your favor, very few people go down in points. So YOU CAN DO IT. It has been done before.
How to study and work, well, every free second of the day and night is dedicated to studying. That means take small notes every where you go, Breaksand Lunch are very important for this. The doctors where you work will understand fully the predicament you are in and you should let them know. They will not have a problem if they see you going over notes, as long as, your responsibilities to them are taken care of first. Most importantly save all your money and know that a month before the exam you will have to have enough saved and take off , so you can study 12 hours a day before you are done. NO SLACKING when it comes to your type of struggle, But remember there are many success stories out there that have gone through the same process and have triumphed. You are no different, which means , you can do it. Have faith.
You should, now be concentrating on your week areas and start to master concepts it is the quickest way along with doing questions daily, to achieve your goal.
You have to become a Machine and make the sacrifice and you will. You will do fine, be like NIKE and JUST DO IT!
I know this is all easier said then done. But, Take my Mom for instance she has 6 kids and is quadruple board cert. in Medicine that means she took four board exams in MEDICINE and she is an American FTD as well. It came at a huge sacrifice but that is what it is all about. Believe me, as amazing as my Mom is, when it comes to exams, she is by no means GIFTED in studying, she just simply maps it out and micro-manages well and most of all SHE PUTS IN THE EFFORT 100% WHEN SHE SETS HER MIND TO IT. I have learned a lot form her and you can do the same I am sure of it.
So plan it out and make your decision and you will do fine. Remember that when it is all all said and done it will be worth it. Every day you are an assistant should be motivation enough to want to pass and get it over with. I know that this how I felt when I was dental assisting.
If you have a faith that you believe in , thenrely on it for strength to see you through, I say that because I am a Christian and regardless if you are or not, My belief in Jesus has made the Difference in my Long Road to getting where I am Going. It seems like forever but I know that it could be worse and it isnt and for this I am grateful.
So I think I have said enough Good luck and God Bless. If there is any thing else let me know. We are all in it together, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. -Bill Fixensmiles01 👍[/QU
