Hi all,

I'm currently a sophomore with a 3.737 GPA. I volunteer at a local hospital in the Emergency Room and have racked in over 100 hours. I am also the president of the American Medical Student Association at my school. At this point is there anything else I should be doing? (I'm currently trying to get into a lab for the spring...)

I'm open to anything and everything. Thanks for your time.

I will sell them to you for the low price of $19.95.

you're only now finding a lab to work in? there's no hope for you; everyone knows you should start summer before your freshman year...of high school to get the research you need to go to med school.

but in all seriousness, 😴 You're turning yourself into a pre-med cliche. Find something that makes you stand out. Volunteer somewhere non-medical, find some unique research where you're not just making gels and washing dishes, study abroad...at this rate, unless you end up with a really stellar MCAT, you won't grab anyone's attention.

Your the chapter president of AMSA and you don't know what to do?

Wow... There are some anal people here. Yeah i spelled opinion incorrectly.. Anyways thanks rhesuspieces for the honest and helpful response. I now realize that I am starting to look like everyone else.. I'll probably study abroad my senior year. If not I have to find something that separates me from the rest..

Actually what do you guys think about the two or three week international medical missions. I've heard that they really separate applicants from each other.

I may try and get an annual trip going with the club..
