Is it bad that I only have eShadowing experience? I have not been able to gain in person shadowing because of covid, but have other clinic experience working in a nursing home, Scribing, and volunteering at a children's hospital. Is it bad to apply next year with no in person shadowing ?

Hopefully you will be able to pick up hours over the next months. Focus on finding a primary care doc. But you do have scribing. Are you scribing now? Ask one of the docs if you could shadow him on one of your days off. You really need to find in person shadowing.

THIS^^^^. You have a year to find in-person shadowing opportunities. It would probably by smarter to focus on that than to rely on a less than ideal substitute that might put you at a disadvantage to the rest of the pool, even if it is accepted.

Yeah I’m scribing now it’s just a lot of doctors I’m asking aren’t accepting shadowing right now but I’ll try asking more

I'm also having an incredibly difficult time finding doctors to shadow (primary care, and DO if possible). I've cold-called a bunch of the offices in my area, but no luck. I've tried leveraging my involvement in other organizations (volunteering in clinics, working in clinical settings) to make connections with docs, but still no luck finding a primary care doc. In addition, I have tried using the resources offered by my undergrad, but still no luck.

I feel you even the ones I know personally are saying they can’t have shadowing right now and honestly idk what to do at this point.

You aren’t applying for 10 months. Certainly (hopefully) in that time you can pick up the needed hours. In the meantime keep building your application.

I applied now with no in-person shadowing and 1.5 months of scribing experience and have had no issues.

E-shadowing is considered less credible, primarily because it is difficult for medical schools to substantiate that you actually did it and that you actually understood the undertaking of a medical career from an on-screen experience. I would recommend trying to get some in-person clinical experience by reaching out to doctors (you can send cold emails), applying for clinical volunteering in hospitals, scribing, or hospice volunteering.
