Hello everybody!
I just detected this forum and maybe I can get some help here, because I find it all very difficult!🙂
First of all I'm from Germany, 35 years old, D.D.S and have been working as a Public Health Dentist for the National Health Service in Germany for the last 7 years. Now I would like to come to the U.S. in order to get some more experience in working as a Public Health Dentist, learn the language and get an impression of practicing in a foreign country.
Now besides taking the TOEFL-Test ( at least I got that point by now 😕) what do i have to do? Can my exams, my Dr. med. dent. ( that's what it is called in Germany), my specialisation in Public Health Dentistry be accredeted and how am I finding a job etc....
Thanx for reading and I hope someone is going to help me out with all this questions!

Regards, Lin

hi,
so as to be eligible to work in USA you need a licence,so as to be eligible for a licence you need at least 2 yrs of more schooling. So,in other words your education and experience is of little value, the only difference it might make is that it will give an edge to your profile.
take TOEFL and NBDE-1 as these are the basic conditions to apply to most advance standing programs, some schools require even NBDE-II.This forum is full of info on this, try searching old threads.
hope this helps

Yes, TOEFL, NBDE 1 and 2 are your starting points. Check out Minnesota State Dental Board- you can practice dentistry in the State after passing Boards and their Clinic Exams
