hi everyone,

id really appreciate some some feedback on this 🙁 . i retook chem 102 last summer because i got a D the first time. after the retake, however, i ended up getting a c. before that, i got a C- in chem 101, so i have to retake that too. when i took orgo the following semester, i got an A. i will be a senior now and i have gotten solid A's and A-'s in my upper level science courses since sophomore year. i'm also an emt-b, cpr instructor, and hospital volunteer. i volunteer at a non-profit organization that works with the korean community and works with the youth for immigration reform. im also part of the launch team of a new church that is hoping to start up a city campus service. i worked 2 or 3 part time jobs all throughout college to support myself since my family struggles a lot financially. my cgpa is a 3.4 right now. i dont know what my sgpa is, but im sure it's lower. do i still have a shot at med school? i know gen chem will hurt my chances :T

I'll assume that your 3.4 GPA includes all tries at every class. It might be possible to get into an MD school with a particularly strong MCAT score, say a 33+. It would be possible to get into a DO med school with a 27+ MCAT, where your application GPA would be higher due to the fact that their application service only includes the most recent retake (if the credit hours are the same or greater). The MD application service includes all gradesw earned, even if your university forgives them, and averages them all together. For either, you'd want to wait to apply until your stats are the best they can be. You might even consider a fifth year of college to raise your GPAs further.
