Hello gang,

I noticed one day that one of my co-workers was studying O. CHM. I asked him what was his major and he said nursing. Nothing against nurses, but this guy was too smart in his sciences to be a nurse. I suggested pharmacy instead and he decided to pursue it. He rocked in his science classes getting "A" s in CAl, Physics, O. cHm. etc.. His GPA is somewhere around 3.2 or 3.3 And Now the problem....He is from Africa and English is not his strong subject. He does well on the math and science on the PCAT, but does so bad on English that it drops his overall percentage down. He has taken the test 3 times with % being 55,59 and an whopping 65% (After Kaplan Course). This is his 2nd shot trying to get into to pharm school. Ladies and gentlemen, does he a a realistic shot at getting in? Did I mention that he has a studder that may may debase his interview skills. (Studder +foreign accent = hard to understand interview) I really feel bad for him if he does not get in becasue I put this idea into his head. Come on guys, give me some good news...

P.S. I know that he is applying to CAmpbell, Hampton U, and Mercer.

Even if you put the idea into him, it was his decision to make the switch. I'm not bashing him or you but I'm just stating the reality of the situation.😉

Anyway, I think it'll be tough since both PCAT and GPA are below average with the PCAT having more of a negative effect. It's late in the application process but he could look into non-PCAT schools in his state since his GPA is viable enough. It's tough either way especially if his interview skills are as questionable as you make them.

Thank you for your input. I do not even think he is aware that there are pharmacy programs that do not require the PCAt. I'll pass the info off. Thanks.
